Community organizations ramp up their efforts to provide welfare support throughout Ramadan. The Khater Foundation has been offering well-balanced meals that nutritionists have endorsed to encourage better living. In 2024, we collaborated with Alameda Healthcare Group’s As-Salam International Hospitals to help distribute daily hot meals to their employees and families. We set up a charity tent in Maadi. The impactful collaboration with Alameda Healthcare Group this year included organizing a food market in Hihya City, Ash-Sharqia Governorate, enabling over 600 families to freely select their desired groceries for the entire month at no cost. The market provided Ramadan treats like dates, peanuts, raisins, and coconut flakes for making Ramadan desserts, along with necessities like rice, pasta, oils, wheat, cheese, dried beans, fresh vegetables, fruits, and poultry.
The goal of the Ramadan program is to make families and children happier by sending them nutrition boxes filled with grocery necessities along with frozen chicken and Eid outfit vouchers so they can purchase clothing according to their requirements and tastes. The initiative focused on promoting healthy eating and hygiene in 2020–2022 during the battle against COVID-19 by providing hygiene kits filled with necessities and by disinfecting important streets, public spaces, and marketplaces in Hiya City, Ash-Sharqia Governorate.
