Our story begins with late Dr. Salah Khater, a true philanthropist and a sincere supporter of his local community
Our story started in the 90s, when philanthropist late Dr. Salah Khater began supporting his community with donations to government and nongovernment healthcare entities that help underprivileged patients reach the healthcare services they need with the quality they deserve.
Commitment to Community Health
Following in their father’s footsteps, Dr. Fahad Salah Khater and Ms. Sarah Salah Khater continued fighting the good fight. Since 2000, they have been supporting numerous local and international foundations from the USA and the UK who help his community. Dr Fahad Khater moved on to become a board-member and active donor in a number of local foundations such as We Owe it to Egypt Foundation and Ahl Masr Foundation, providing both financial support and technical consultancy through Alameda Healthcare Group’s experts. In order to institutionalize the extensive charity work of the Khater family and drive its sustainable growth, Dr. Fahad and Ms. Sarah Khater established the Khater Foundation for Community Development as a non-profit organization. Its core belief is that an individual’s health and wellbeing are a fundamental right regardless of socio-economic, age, or ethnic background, and that an inclusively healthy environment contributes to a strong economy.

To safeguard the health and wellbeing of people living in Egypt, and tackle challenges that face the two ends of the healthcare spectrum by empowering both recipients and Institutions with the needed resources.
The Khater Foundation works on ensuring accountability and sustainability while providing support to achieve its goals through three pillars: development; charity; and advocacy.
Provide support to fill existing gaps and challenges faced in healthcare systems by advising on sustainable operations and availing solutions to beneficiaries
Khater Foundation invests its knowledge, resources, and efforts to elevate the health and well-being of all people living in Egypt with an objective to reach marginalized communities or individual while also raising the standards and improving the quality of services offered by healthcare Institutions through building its physical or technical capacity. Khater Foundation hopes to contribute to Egyptians living a healthy life so they in turn can contribute positively to their community and economy.
The Khater Foundation supports local communities and healthcare Institutions across the country. It began by focusing on Hihya city in Ash Sharqia, one of Egypt’s largest governorates, and the hometown of the Khater family. Currently, the foundation provides its services to countless communities and Institutions nationwide.
