The Catheterization Unit at Al-Kasr Al-Ainy - Siemens Artis zee

We are thrilled to announce a significant leap forward in patient care within the public sector with the opening of the newly renovated Catheterization Lab at the Critical Care Unit (Dr. Sherif Mokhtar Unit), Al-Kasr Al-Ainy - Cairo University.
The project was realized through the generous funding and philanthropic vision of Dr. Fahad Salah Khater, Chairman of Alameda Healthcare Group and the Khater Foundation for Community Development. The facility is now equipped to manage more than 5,000 complex cases annually.
Marking a remarkable conclusion to 2025, this achievement stands as a testament to the power of collaboration. The inauguration was notably supported by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Samy Abdel Sadek (President of Cairo University) and guided by the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hossam Salah (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine).
We were especially honored by the presence of Dr. Sherif Mokhtar the godfather and pioneer of the unit, alongside Dr. Tarek Elgohary (Head of Critical Care Units) and Dr. Ahmed Al-Battah (Head of the Catheterization and Critical Care Unit). The event was further celebrated by our successful partners from the Siemens team, the Khater Foundation management, and Al-Kasr Al-Ainy administration and faculty members.
Central to this renovation is the addition of the Siemens Artis zee ceiling system. This state-of-the-art, ceiling-mounted imaging system revolutionizes the unit’s capabilities. Offering full-body coverage and precise imaging, it streamlines workflows in Interventional Cardiology, Radiology, and Surgery. The system’s flexibility ensures easy patient access and accommodates diverse clinical disciplines in a single room, ensuring the highest standard of care and best outcomes for patients.
